Busy day ahead

Well it's going to be a busy day. I just got approved to be a substitute teachers aid and have to go fill out the paperwork..yay! Also my husband's dad has been very ill and they actually admitted him to the VA hospital a few days ago and he is undergoing a scope/colonoscopy right now so we are really hoping we don't get bad news on that end. Otherwise I have just kept myself busy crafting. I am almost done with a gorgeous little purse/tote. The first one I've made and I must say I am so proud of it. And I just keep busy trying to promote my wares...hoping to start selling soon. So if you are interested please check out some of the stuff I have. Back Doctor Appointment

Ah yes, forgot in the previous post another health problem I have is degenertive disc disease and arthritis in my back. So went to see a spine doctor yesterday. He's not sure the amount of pain I am in is due to the disc disease and thinks it may be something more. So to diagnose this, I got to have a spinal block yesterday...can we say yippie LOL. Obviously they numb the top part of the back but when they get to the injections into your spine...OUCH! And we are HOPING that the block will make my back stop hurting...this is just a test so it only lasts for a little while, but if it works then they can do ones that last for 3 months at a time. So he told me to go home and do things that would normally make my back hurt. Well, so far, it's not working. But hopefully it will. I go back October 1st and we will go from there.

Update on my Health

Well I have been having some health issues, I seem to always have health issues. Sad really at my age. Luckily though none of it is life threatening...more of just something that is just bothersome. Right now I am dealing with my IBS. I've had it awhile, one doctor told me I have the worst case he'd seen. Now if he'd been young I might have felt better but no...he'd been around awhile. Sadly, every med I've taken hasn't worked. I even had to suffer through a colonoscopy a couple years ago! The worst part is the day before drinking that nasty stuff! LOL Well things had been fine for awhile. I still have flare ups but nothing unusual. Well now I am having some bleeding. So back to the doc I went and now I have to go see a GI, a specialist. And they are saying I may need another colonoscopy...ICK!

My new project

I am so proud of myself. I am working on my first ever quilt and it's coming along very nicely! I hope the finished quilt is going to look as good as I think. I love to sew and am starting all sort of new sewing projects. Foster Update

Good Friday morning all. I had a nice and quiet birthday last night. Getting up with the rest of the family this weekend for dinner. Nothing big. We have yet another meeting with DSS today, I tell ya they will drive you crazy when you are trying to adopt thru them. I have been working on a quilt and it's finally starting to come together. I have all the main pieces finally cut out and pinned down the first square with the pieces last night. It's my first and I hope it's going to be as pretty as it seems. The only hard part about fostering is yesterday she started crying about missing her birth parents. Which of course is normal but also heartbreaking for me for several reasons. So, on advice from her counselor, poor thing has NO pictures of her family and they never sent DSS any so there just are none. So I got her a special journal and let her draw pictures and then I write in whatever it is she wants to say, what memory she has and such. She's only 5yrs so she can't really write it herself yet. And it makes her feel better. And that's the important part.

It was just too cute last night. I was in the floor watching tv and working on a quilt and Mark, Kennen and Nevada (for those of you who don't know she's our foster daughter whom we hope to adopt and her name is actually pronouced Nuh-vay-duh and she is 5 and PRECIOUS) well the were all in the kitchen which is right behind me "pretending" to be making a pizza all the while they are baking me a birthday cake. It was the cutest thing. Mark and Kennen obviously knew that I knew what was going on but she wanted to "suprise" me. So of course I was suprised. But we are waiting until today to actually eat a piece since today is my actual bday.

I'm back and better than ever!

Sorry I've been gone for so long. Life has been insane! Just a short update...well as short as can be. When last we left off, I had opened my lovely Etsy shop and had also found out I couldn't get pregnant. Well my husband and I went through all the red tape and are now foster to adopt parents. We did what was called "respite" care for about a week and a half to break us in. That's when the children already have foster parents but for some reason or another need basically a babysitter. They were adorable little boys. We now have a placement and we have been thru HECK with DSS. We have been fighting hard to adopt her. There are lots of issues on their end but we are doing all we can and we are confident in the end, we will get to adopt her. In the meantime we've also moved, we still have custody of our nephew who recently turned 15 and is now studying to get his driver's license! ICK! Things have been very up and down but seem to be settling now. I have expanded from just beading to all sorts of art work and also sewing and quilting. I hope you check out my shop for some of my new things. I need the income...oh yes...that is another story. I am now a full time stay at home mom. The job I was currently at decided they wanted me there all the time and to never take time off unless extreme cases. Well you need a flexible schedule to foster. So I resigned (no hard feelings) and found (I thought) the perfect part time job that let me take our child to school and pick her up after. At the end of 3 months, I was told I was no longer needed and let go. But was told I would get a good recommendation. Now we can make it on only my husbands salary but it will be tight. So hopefully I can get all my projects up and running and if not, I am looking into getting a teaching certificate...NOT a degree and being a teachers aid or just a substitute teachers aid. Then I still have the flexibility and hours of our kids. So there ya go, oh and I have another business venture but I will put this one in a post all it's own
